Update for Anthony Lightell

Research requires that you circle back and do some searches repeatedly. Databases get updated and new records get added. If you're going to pick up anything new, you sometimes repeat steps. In a routine search for Anthony Lightell, I happened upon a military record that I've somehow missed in the past. Here it is.

The National Archives at St. Louis; St. Louis, Missouri; World War II Draft Cards (4th Registration) for the State of Louisiana; Record Group Title: Records of the Selective Service System, 1926-1975; Record Group Number: 147
Name: Walter Anthony Lightell
Gender: Male
Residence Age: 58
Birth Date: 3 Oct 1884
Residence Date: 1942
Residence Place: New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

When you look at the original record, it shows Anthony living at 2451 Burgundy St., New Orleans, Louisiana with son Adam and gives his place of birth as Davant, Plaquemine, Louisiana.

Armed with a new first name of Walter, I've found additional records, including a social security death record.

Name: Walter Lightell
SSN: 439-14-1484
Last Residence: 70448 Mandeville, Saint Tammany, Louisiana, USA
BORN: 3 Oct 1884
Last Benefit: 70117, New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America
Died: Sep 1978
State (Year) SSN issued: Louisiana (Before 1951)

So, the next task will be contacting the New Orleans Public Library in New Orleans to see if they have an obituary on file for him. It should indicate that he has two children: Margaret Lightell Walters of Detroit, Michigan and Adam Anthony Lightell of Slidell, Louisiana.
